About Us
We are so excited to be a partner in the miraculous and wondrous development of your child. As an extension to the learning and love that happens at home, we support not just the child but you, our parents, in navigating each new phase of your child’s life.
When your child steps through our doors they are immediately embraced by a warm and immersive environment that helps foster curiosity, joy and discovery.
Our Educational Philosophy
Our school is built on the belief that the earliest events in a child's life are the most formative and critical determinants of their development. Furthermore, we hold true that children learn best through an experiential and intentional approach to teaching and learning, and that each child is inherently capable and competent. Drawing from the best practices in early childhood education, and with specific inspiration from the Reggio Emilia philosophy, children will learn through an innovative, and inquiry-based curriculum where they actively participate in the learning process.
At Aleph Academy, we offer an emergent curriculum that is responsive to the interests of the child. We seek to create meaningful learning experiences that take into account each child’s skills, needs and interests. Our educators value children as thinkers and learners and welcome their contribution to joint investigations through hands-on learning.
Social and Emotional Curriculum
Our school follows the Conscious Discipline approach created by Dr. Becky Bailey. The premise of Conscious Discipline is that every child is inherently good inside. Conscious Discipline creates a culture of learning based on safety, connection and problem solving. Conscious Discipline received high ratings in 8 of 10 categories in a Harvard analysis of the nation’s top 25 social-emotional learning programs.
At Aleph Academy we believe that true learning can only take place when a meaningful relationship between a child and their teachers is established. Therefore, our educational model is predicated on creating a connection between the child and their learning environment, peers, and teachers.
Conscious Discipline holds that every behavior is a form of communication. Our task as educators is to help the child learn to be able to identify and manage their feelings. All feelings are okay emotions, here children are taught how to manage their feelings. Children learn the skills of self regulation which is a crucial skill set they need for adulthood and beyond. We teach self-regulation through a variety of skills such as practicing breathing methods, social stories, puppets and connection rituals. Jewish Enrichment
The Aleph Academy unites children, teachers, family and community in a positive and constructive early childhood experience. Our Jewish values drive the curriculum, environment and school culture. We model and encourage kindness, respect, compassion, confidence and responsibility .
Judaism underscores the uniqueness of every child with the axiom "chanoch l'naar al pi darko," encouraging us to train children according to their individual paths. We recognize that each child has his or her unique needs, interests and passions. Our children are viewed as collaborators: they are competent, curious, inquisitive, unique, and creative.
At Aleph Academy we live the joy of the Jewish holidays in an experiential way. Children enjoy learning about the stories and the customs of the holidays in a hands on approach. We listen to, explore, taste, and dress up to truly experience our beautiful, rich culture.
Social and Emotional Curriculum
Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think.
- Albert Einstein
Children are born scientists, from the moment they enter the world they are eager to explore and understand how things work. It is not so much the knowledge as helping children develop new ways of thinking, encouraging curiosity and analysis. Our steam curriculum does exactly that, through each modal we are promoting inquisitiveness.
Science is a way of thinking. Technology is a way of doing. Engineering is a way of creating. Art is a way of expressing and imagining. Math is a way of measuring. Our daily schedule has many opportunities for the children to be able to delve into the subject areas in a variety of ways.

Our Mission
At The Aleph Academy, we believe passionately that learning should be an adventure. A child's experience is bounded only by his or her imagination and dreams. Our mission is to offer a vibrant and innovative learning community committed to child-focused exploration, creativity and collaboration. We know that children's brains are elastic and our goal is to stretch their minds and inspire them through tangible experiences and concrete learning.
